Bunk Bed Sheets

Bunk beds are great space savers and particularly useful in children's bedrooms. The problem with conventional sheets is that you will be continually straightening them if used on a bunk. And if your child is a night-time 'kicker' they will end up on the floor. Your best bet is to get some genuine bunk bed sheets.

In fact, regular sheets on a bunk bed can be potentially dangerous. If the sheets, comforter or blankets fall on the floor, the child on the top bunk will have to climb up and down throughout the night to retrieve his or her bedding. A sleepy child could easily fall and hurt themselves.

In addition to getting appropriate sheeting, you will also need to get a comforter especially designed for bunk beds. It will be elasticized at the bottom and fits securely to the mattress ensuring that it cannot fall off. Make sure all bunk bed sheeting is durable and washable because it's going to suffer a lot of wear and tear if used by a child.

If the bunk bed is against a wall, regular sheeting is even more inconvenient. To make the bed you have to crawl around making sure that the bottom sheet is tucked in properly and that the flat sheet also stays put. The solution is to buy attached sheets.

Attached sheets are made of a fitted sheet and a top sheet that are stitched together at the side or the center. For bunk beds, the side version is more practical. The mattress simply goes inside the 'cocoon'. Making the bed is simple - just pull the flat sheet across the bed.

Bunk bed sheets
will stay neat even if the kids scamper on them during the day. And the room will look a lot cleaner and fresher. Because the beds are so easy to make with the correct sheeting, you can even pass this responsibility onto your children.
